Beyond SMS for Android

Beyond SMS for Android is a premium SMS management application, provided free of charge for Android devices.

Beyond SMS for Android is the first and only application on the Google Play Store app store that allows users to send replaceable SMS messages and special types of SMS such as Ping, Flash messages .

Note: The Beyond SMS for Android application only works on mobile devices that support the 'sendRawPdu' API function in the system software. So Beyond SMS may not support your device. Once installed, you can check its availability by going to the Ability Check menu.

Supported devices: T-Mobile G1, HTC Desire S (and some HTC devices have compatible system software).

Devices not supported: Sony Xperia U, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Samsung Galaxy Note II (and some Samsung devices).

Description

Alternate Response Address (Alternate Reply Address)

With this feature, the recipient of the message will respond by using an alternate response address instead of the sender's address. On some target devices (eg iPhone or Pantech Sky, Pantech Vega .), the message will be displayed with this number. On most other target devices, this feature is removed, so the recipient won't see any difference.

Archive the message

• Default: destination device determines where the messages are stored.
• Preferred phone memory: destination device sends a notification to the sender when the message is successfully received and can be archived. The target device will store normal messages in the phone memory by default, if possible, otherwise the messages will be stored in some location, for example, in the SIM card memory.
• Preferred SIM memory: destination device will ensure that the message is stored in the SIM memory before sending a notification to the sender.

Message is replaceable

With this feature, old messages (sent by this tool) will be overwritten with a new message. The sender can set alternate cycles for each recipient.

Flash message

The target device will display an instant message and send a notification to the sender. Messages will not be automatically stored in the target device, but the user has an option to save them. On some mobile phones (eg iPhone) the message will be displayed without the sender's address and the ability to save the message.

Ping message

With Ping messages, the sender can check if the recipient exists or not without disturbing them with a call or SMS. The target device will not assign any image notification to the recipient.

Message waiting directive (MWI)

Special message instructions (voice messages, Fax, Email or other instructions) will be sent to the target device. With this message, the sender can tell the destination device that it is a voice message (or Fax, Email). An icon will be displayed on the target device. To remove the icon from the target device, the sender needs to deactivate it. Most target devices support displaying the Voice Mail icon. Only some other devices (such as Nokia) display the Fax, Email and other indicators.
