7capture is an impressive screen capture software that helps you save a whole screen, a certain area or a window, remove redundant background, save photos in many different formats with good quality.

7capture is a free desktop capture application for both personal and commercial use, you can use the software the way you want on any number of computers. Although it is free, 7capture does not have any spyware, adware, malicious code or viruses. All 7capture does is record your activity on your screen for free. Image quality created by 7capture will make you satisfied.

The main feature of the 7capture screen capture application

  • Automatically handle complex transparency issues, especially rounded corners and semi-transparent window backgrounds
  • Capture full screen, capture part of screen or just a certain window
  • Preview photos taken, copied or saved to various formats
  • Compatible with multiple operating systems: 7capture can handle rounded corners of application window shots on Windows XP, transparent parts of application windows on Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • 7capture catches the color of the theme and tries to find better screenshots
  • Support saving images in PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and PDF formats
  • Easy to install and use
  • All free

After a few simple installation steps, nothing to pay special attention to, you will be taken to an eye-catching user interface. Here, in the Quick Capture tab, you can choose to take a picture of the full screen, part of the screen, or just an active window. If in the Window section, click the arrow but do not see the window to capture, simply click Refresh to refresh the list.

The strength of 7capture lies in the feature of taking photos of the application window. If using the default Snipping Tool on Windows, when capturing angled windows, it will not be able to handle the corners, but will take an extra portion of the outside of the window to form a square image. 7capture, on the other hand, can separate the entire background from the corners, giving you a perfect window shot (you can compare the two photos in this article to see this difference clearly). Unfortunately 7capture is unable to take a screenshot of the application window itself.

Images after capture can be saved as PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP or as PDF file files. If no format is selected when saving, the application will automatically save the image as PNG.

7capture consumes a small amount of system resources, so it does not affect the work you are doing on the computer. It also supports shortcuts for faster operations.

After all, 7capture works quite smoothly during testing, without causing errors or crashes (except when choosing to capture the main window of 7capture will cause the application to hang). And of course, the output image quality is quite impressive. If you are looking for a free, lightweight and working screen capture software, 7capture is definitely a smart choice.
