Instructions for using Adobe Audition

Step 1: Recording device:

  • Computer with soundcard (onboard or soundcard)
  • Micro.

Step 2: Prepare the recording:

  • To increase the capture volume of the mic when recording for louder: Go to Volume Control , then go to Mic's Advanced , tick " 120 db Boost ".
  • Open Adobe Audition . Choose File / New . Then leave it as default as the program it chooses. Click OK .

Step 3: Conduct a recording:

  • If collecting classic, just play the guitar, you should keep the mic about 20-30 cm away from the guitar, avoid too close to be too timid and too far, it will not hear clearly.
  • If the recording buffer, the mic also with the distance above, then remember to be close to the mouth too, otherwise you will not hear where you sing, but do not put too close to the mouth, singing will be "popping".
  • Press the red RECORD button to start recording, you should leave the first 3 seconds silent then start recording.
  • The recording is finished then press the Record button again to stop recording.

Step 4: Edit the sound:

  • The first is filtering noise: Now will explain why you should leave the first 2, 3 seconds silent. At that silence, only the noise is recorded in your work. It will be taken as a "noise sample" and the sounds with frequencies like this sample will be filtered out. How to choose a pattern as follows: you select the part 2, 3 seconds using the mouse to scan, then go to Effects / Noise Reduction / Capture Noise Reduction Profile (Alt + N), a window will appear loading . you press Cancel .
  • Now to filter the noise for the whole work, press CTRL + A to select the entire recording, then go to Effects / Noise Reduction / Noise Reduction . You can Preview your filter. After feeling like that, click OK . If you choose a good "Sample", it will certainly be OK, but if you do not like it, adjust the blue line and preview it until you like it.
  • We proceed to the effects for the work. After filtering out the noise, we see that just a little more Effects is my work is no different from recording studio.

Step 5: Save the work again:

You go to File , select Save As . Save As Type: you choose the type of file format you like, including .wma, .mp3, .wav . Usually, you should choose .wma or .mp3 for small files! The .wav format is also great if you want good sound quality to make editing later.

Step 6: Compress the file:

Use WinRAR to compress the file.
