Amarok brings many features besides the basic features are music playback. You can organize and manage your music library by genre, artist list or album. The software also features tagging according to the music file format, adding lyrics, attaching related albums and automatically scoring tracks based on the number of times it has been played.

Amarok supports many audio file formats such as FLAC, Ogg, MP3, AAC, WAV, Windows Media Audio, Apple Lossless, WavPack, TTA and Musepack . It can open video formats but only supports audio playback, not displaying images. The software cannot play digital music files with DRM embedded - Digital Rights Management ( digital rights management). Users can synchronize, play or download music from digital music players such as iPod, iriver, Creative NOMAD, Creative Zen and many other devices. The installation options are more varied than the previous version of Amarok 2.8

Amarok is recommended for KDE users. With n0n-DKE desktop, Amarok's performance may not be suitable because it consumes quite a lot of CPU capacity. You can find the download link for your Mac computer, but it should be noted that the Mac OS version has not yet released the Stable version . There will be no official support and it is very likely that there will be errors during use. The software runs on Mac 10.5. In addition, you can also download Amarok for Linux if you are using this open source operating system.

Version 2.8 was called a return to the original " Return To The Origin " when the publisher introduced features that Amarok users from Generation 1 still love. Highlights can be described as

  • Applet for audio visual analysis.
  • Fading effect (fade-out) when stopping the song.
  • Various UI user interface improvements and display image tweaking options such as support for more diverse theme colors.
  • Significantly enhance the feature of adding bookmarks with information from the MusicBrainz music encyclopedia.
