BTV Pro for Mac is a simple video capture and display software for Mac users.

BTV can display and record video from any input device that has a Mac compatible driver. This includes USB and Firewire cameras, DV devices and iSight cameras built into many Mac computers.

Watch videos online in one window or on full screen

Online videos can be viewed in a minimized window that can be easily resized and dragged around the screen or across the entire computer screen.

Record movie

When you record a video to a hard drive, it will be instantly compressed using your custom video and audio settings. The recorded videos will be saved as standard QuickTime files that can be opened with any other video application on Mac.

Capture still images

Editors can record video frames to discs in a variety of standard image formats including: JPEG, TIFF and PNG.

Record video with just one touch

Movie and image files can be saved to an automatic location using automatic file names. This allows you to record movies and take photos right away without having to save the file manually.

Support for multiple monitors

If you have more than one monitor connected to your Mac, BTV can display the entire video on any attached monitor. This allows you to display videos on one monitor while working on another.

Support AppleScript

AppleScript is a way of controlling applications by writing scripts and can be used to control and automate many of the features of the Editor. Scripts can be created using the AppleScript Editor application that comes bundled with the Mac operating system.

Film editing and playback

QuickTime movies can be played back in a window or on the entire screen. In addition, you can also perform various editing operations on movies by using the copy and paste command or mouse click and drag. You also have the ability to open image files, then copy and paste them into the movie.

Record TimeLapse

The TimeLapse feature allows you to schedule video frame capture for a specified period of time. These frames can then be added to movies or saved as individual image files. Each photo frame can be combined with many other frames to minimize noise. In addition, there is also an option to draw a clock image on top of captured frames.

Motion detection

This feature analyzes the video image and captures the video only when motion is detected. The image of a watch can be attached to a video taken to show the exact time at which motion occurred.

Stop-motion animations

BTV Pro has many features to create stop-motion animations. You can capture individual image files and BTV pro can save them as well as number them automatically if desired. Then put them all into a movie. Or, you can create a new movie and add individual frames to it. It will then replay and edit immediately what you have just created. In addition, the software also displays the last captured frame on the input video device so you can view exactly the changes between frames. This is a hovering activity window, designed to help you keep track of the number of frames you take.

Frame together

To create a noise-free picture, the Frame Averaging feature combines several frames together to create a unique image. This can significantly reduce noise in the video.

Directory viewer

This useful feature allows you to view thumbnails of all files in a large folder and all subfolders. You can then rename and delete the file directly from Folder Viewer , and save or print the thumbnail. This is a very useful tool for managing a large number of image files.

Convert and export movies

BTV Pro can export movies with different video and audio compression settings, set aspect ratio, size and many different filters such as sharpen, color balance, blur, shadow, . The export feature is also used to create a DV stream, extract audio or video tracks, create individual image files from a movie, or create an appropriate movie file for online viewing.

DV Input / Output

BTV Pro can record video from a Firewire DVD device to a DV stream for easy importing into other software such as iMovie. Besides, BTV Pro also exports a DV Stream to a DV device.

Control DV device

BTV Pro can control a connected Firewire DV device. There are also a number of controls for exporting and accessing all play modes.
