CheckeMON - Screen quality testing tool

You are currently using a computer monitor or planning to buy a new monitor, as well as other devices you might want to know if it's good or bad.

If you use your eyes to see, it will not be possible to check all the display details of the screen, you should have a program to do this and CheckeMON is a reasonable choice. In addition to being easy to use, the program also provides many test items and especially you can use it for mobile testing.

After downloading, you decompress into a directory and run the program executable file without having to install (later you can copy the executable file to a removable disk and use it to check the screen everywhere).

In the program window, you will see the parameters are set to the default screen is checked as Resolution (resolution), Color Depth (color depth) and Refresh Rate (scanning speed). You conduct a screen test by clicking on each item (underlined) under the word TESTS, to stop checking then press Esc.

A total of 10 test items and ways to determine the quality of the screen through each item are as follows:

- Solid Colors (solid color) : The screen will display each unique color such as red, blue . Pay close attention to each color point in every position to see if the color is distorted or not. If each color point represents a unique color, then the screen is good. To check for other colors, click on the screen.

- Convergence Dots (convergence points ): A grid of white points will appear on the screen on the background. If you clearly see the color of the points and there are no other colors around each point, then the screen is good.

- Convergence Lines (converged lines ): Show a grid with two concentric circles and two diagonal lines passing through the center. If you see the color of each line (white only) and the lines are not protruding as well.

- Color Gradients (gradients) : Express each color in the form of spread from light to dark. If the color transition is continuous or not blurred, it is ok.

- Color Spectrum (color spectrum) : Displays three main colors in the form of spectroscopy. Pay attention if the colors appear smooth, without interruption between each color as well.

- Geometry (diagram) : Including 5 circles (1 large in the middle and 4 small in each corner of the screen). The screen is good when the circles look perfectly round, centered and in each corner, with no misalignment. You can further adjust the buttons on the screen to check for more accuracy.

- Moire Interference (moire interference) : The screen will show full of silver points. If the points are not disjointed or lost as well. You should double check this function on CRT screens.

- Crosstalk (noise) : Display black and white frames. The screen is good when the lines on each frame are not smudged or bent.

- Power Supply : only use this item to check CTR screens. Check if the monitor is supplied with sufficient power, otherwise the screen will be distorted when the display frame flashes.

- Phase : Use this section to check the LCD screens. Good screen if the frame is not skewed back and forth compared to the normal image display.
