From the main interface of the software provides 2 main features: Download and Upload. To start uploading and sharing data, click the Create new upload session button.

A new dialog box appears. Here, you can click to select an additional file, or add a folder to share via DTF. You can select multiple files or folders at once. The list of selected files / folders will be displayed on the dialog box.

After you have selected the data to share, click the Register button on this dialog box to register with the server of the software. A dialog box appears, asking the user to select a location to save the data to download. If the shared user data is a directory, the recipient will receive the data in the form of a folder, and if the file list is received the same.

After clicking OK , the interface of the software will be narrowed down to the system tray.

To manage the download process, right-click on the software icon and select Downloads . One limitation when using the software, is that only need to have the data transfer code (the code generated when users upload), anyone using DTF can download shared data. , whether allowed or not.

To overcome this limitation, you can enter a password protection for shared data. Meaning that in addition to the code used to download, the recipient needs to fill in the confirmation password. To use this feature, right-click on the software icon, select Uploads .

The list of data that you have uploaded to share will be displayed on the left. To set a password for sharing, right-click an item in the list and select Set password .

From the dialog box that appears, enter the security password and click the Set button.

Now, for the data recipient, after entering the sharing code on the software's main interface, the process will not automatically download until the user has declared the password.

To declare the password, you need to go to the Downloads dialog box (right-click on the software icon, select Downloads ). From the dialog box that appears, right-click the appropriate download request for a password and select Set Password . Enter the appropriate password into the dialog box for the download to take place.

To return to the main interface of the software and continue the download / upload process, right-click the software icon in the system tray, select Quick wizard . and continue using as instructed above.

Note: during data transmission, the DirecTransFile software must be activated on both computers (sender and receiver).
