EBAS - Balance chemical equations

For those of you who are studying High School Chemistry, the balance is counter Picture 1 of EBAS Chemical applications have become very familiar. Simple reactions, you can easily memorize the coefficient of balance, but for complex reactions, the memorization of coefficients will be very difficult to perform.

Now, with the help of the Equation Balancing and Stoichiometry calculator (EBAS), you can balance any chemical reaction from simple to complex. The program also allows you to calculate the number of moles and the mass of substances in the reaction.

A. Balance the chemical reaction: After installing successfully, you run the program by double-clicking the icon with the test tube of the program on the Desktop. The program interface appears, select File-New to start balancing a new chemical reaction. To make it easier to add more substances in the reaction, select View - Alternate UI (or press Ctrl + 2).

- Enter the chemical formula of the reaction substance in the Substrates section and to add a new substance, click the >> button.

- You also do the same as above to enter the chemical formula of the products in the Products section.

- If your formula is correct, after entering the equation, the substance will show the balance of that substance in the reaction. Conversely, if the formula appears before the formula " ? ", It shows that you have entered the wrong. You should check back now.

B. Some rules of input: For normal compounds: you enter the " _ " character in front of each index. For example, when entering the formula of the molecule K2SO4 , you would type K_2SO_4 .

For regular compounds: enter the "" character in front of each index. For example, when entering the formula of the molecule, you will type.

- For the formula of hydrated crystal: you add the " & " character before the water molecule. For example, when entering the formula of CaSO4.10H2O plaster you enter the following CaSO_4 & 10H_2O .

- For ions: add the character " ^ " in front of the oxidation number and put the oxidation number in the { and } marks. For example, when entering the formula of SO42- you enter the following: SO_4 ^ {2-} .

C. Calculate the number of moles and mass of the substance in the reaction: From the chemical equation above, you can calculate the number of moles as well as the mass of substances in the reaction.

- Besides each substance in the equation, there will be the following parts: MW (cubic molecule), n (number of moles), mass (mass).

- Depending on the data of the problem, you enter the value in each cell (you do not need to enter both n and mass boxes because the program will automatically calculate the rest for you). If any substance does not have data, leave the default value of " 0 ". When there is residue in the reaction, the program will automatically redden you.

-After the data entry is complete, the program will show the results for you.

The program also has the function to calculate the number of moles based on temperature and volume, or calculate the molarity of the substance. Hopefully with the help of this program, you will be more confident learning chemistry.
