How to use ImageShack

Although ImageShack was once a subscription service, the main source of revenue came from ads related to free photo hosting. Since 2014, ImageShack has decided to switch to a subscription service and no longer supports free photo uploads. However, after registering your account for the first time, you can experience ImageShack for free for 30 days before deciding to sign up for an annual subscription.

All photos stored in free accounts will only be valid until January 31, 2016. After that time, if the subscriber does not convert to a fee account, the data will be deleted completely. Image Shack's new web interface does not allow free web-based access to the original image resolution, but images can be downloaded in batches in their native resolution through its SkyPath application.

ImageShack was born in November 2003. On the homepage there will be a file selection field for users to easily select the file and upload. Image formats supported on ImageShack include JPEG (JPG), PNG, GIF, TIFF (TIF) or BMP. File must be less than or equal to 5MB (for free account) and 10MB (for subscribers), when uploading BMP and TIFF (TIF) images, the image will automatically be converted to PNG format.

After uploading the file successfully, the user will be redirected to the page containing the URL of the uploaded image. This URL is in HTML and Bulletin Board code snippet, used to embed in website or message. The image link is not public, only the user and the person sharing will know the location of the original file.
