KeePassX 0.4.3 for Mac

KeePassX is a free and very effective tool to store passwords and personal data safely, used for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. This tool not only helps store passwords safely but also save all usernames, URLs, attachments, and comments in the most convenient and safe way. In addition, you can optionally arrange archived items in separate groups for easy searching.

After installation, open KeePassX by going to Applications >> Accessories.

To create an archive for your information, you must first create a new database. There are 2 ways to do this, click the New button (left side on the toolbar) or click File> New Database (Ctrl + N). You will then be asked to set a master password for the database (master key). You can set a password or use a password file (key file). With the password file, you can use the GPG file you already have, or you can ask KeePassX to create it for you.

Once you have created the database, you can add groups and folders to divide the types of information you want to store (for example, existing groups are Internet and Email). After you have created the groups, you can add items. To add an entry, click the key icon or click Add New Entry and enter the necessary information for the items you want to store such as Username, password, URL, Comments . KeePassX also allows you to attach files in the Attachment section.

In the password section, you can add a password or let KeePassX generate a random password for you. To view the passwords just click the eye icon. If you use passwords generated by KeePassX, you can be assured of its safety and security. If you use your own password, the Quality section of KeePassX will show you if your password is really safe so you can decide if you should change your password or not. In addition, you can 'request' KeePassX to cancel invalid passwords and remind you the deadline to change the passwords to ensure absolute safety.

Once you have completed the entry, click the OK button, and all information will be stored. If this is your first time saving the database, KeePassX will ask you to name this file. To change options like interface, language or security options . You go to tab Extras> Settings .
