Microsoft Office Live Workspace

After consecutive attacks from Google Docs, Zoho and other programs, Microsoft finally launched an online office application to compete: Office Live Workspace - a service that supports source-based document sharing online. open.

Office Live Workspace is one of the company's 'additional software services,' allowing anyone with a Windows Live ID account to share and store their documents on the web, in addition to translating. online.

For the same purpose, Microsoft products have markedly different features than those of Zoho and Google. Instead of creating documents on the web and keeping them on your hard drive, with Office Windows Live, users can choose to install office programs to store documents on the web. Although it does not allow editing documents on web interfaces like Zoho and Google Docs, this service allows you to store documents directly on the web from installed office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. It also allows you to review documents online.

To use the service, you need a Windows Live ID account, and can create multiple Workspaces at the same time for the groups you want to collaborate. Then you only need to send invitations to members to be able to share documents with them. The team members can be the editor (editor) or just the viewer (viewer). Locking the file is similar to that in Microsoft Office, with common options such as: 'Onpen as read only', notifying if the file exists and saving the file under a different name. An Office Live toolbar installed on the Office application gives users the option to save or open documents from any shared workspace.

Microsoft says the maximum capacity for each account is 500MB, corresponding to thousands of files, or more, depending on the size. This service can run on Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista; or Firefox 2.0 on Mac OS X version 10.2.x or later.
