The firmware version 1.03 of the D7000 fixes a number of issues with the creation of a new camera folder, RAW image or aperture display error.

Version 1.03 fixes some of the following errors:

  • Error not accepting memory cards has now been resolved.
  • Fixed a bug related to creating new folders in the camera.
  • Fix aperture display error.
  • Fix errors when zooming in or out.

How to check the current firmware version:

  • Turn on the camera.
  • Press the Menu button to display the menu screen.
  • Select Menu Setting.
  • Select the current Firmware version in the Setting Menu.
  • The current version will be displayed on the camera screen.
  • Turn off the camera.

Firmware Upgrade Instructions:

  • Create a new folder with the appropriate name on your computer hard drive.
  • Download Windows (.exe) or Macintosh (.dmg) in the download link.
  • Run the downloaded file to create the D7000Update folder which contains the file 'firmware D7000_0103.bin'.
  • Use the card reader to copy the file D7000_0103.bin to the root directory of the SD card.
  • Insert a memory card into the camera's memory card slot and turn on the camera. If the memory card has a dual slot, insert it into slot 1.
  • Select the Firmware version from the Camera's Settings Menu and follow the instructions to upgrade the Firmware.
  • When the D7000 firmware displays version 1.02, '1.02' is displayed for both ' current' and 'new' types.
  • After the upgrade is completed, turn off the camera and remove the memory card.
  • Access the firmware in the camera's settings menu to confirm the firmware has been upgraded.
  • After confirming, turn off the camera and wait about 5 seconds before using it.
