PDFTK Builder 3.5.3

PDF is one of the most popular document formats today. During use, you will want to delete or insert new pages, or simply stamp copyright on the content of the file. PDFTK Builder is a great utility to help you do just that.

PDTK Builder is a free, open-source utility that allows you to merge multiple pdf files into one, insert content from one file into another, organize and delete pages contained in the file, cut 1 file into several parts. small . and many other features.

After downloading, installing and activating the program, you will notice its interface looks very simple with 4 main tabs:

1. Collate: this tab allows you to rearrange the pages on the pdf file (rearrange, delete or insert pages .). Click the Add button to select the pdf file to proceed.

The selected file will appear in the Source PDF Documents box. To rearrange the order of pages, simply enter the order of the pages you want to arrange in the Pages pane. For example, if you have a pdf file with 6 pages, you can enter '6,5,4,3,2,1' to reverse the order of the pages contained in the file or enter '2,1,3,4 , 5,6 'to bring page 2 to the top. (Note: Numbers must be separated by commas).

If you want to delete a certain page in the file, you enter the order of the pages and skip that page into the Pages frame. For example, to delete page 5 from the file, you enter 1,2,3,4,6 in the Pages frame. In case if the file has too many pages, you can use the 'first-last-page' notation to save time. For example, if a file has 12 pages and if you enter '2-6,9,10' in the Pages frame, pages 1, 7, 8, 11 and 12 will be removed from the file.

- If you want to merge multiple pdf files into 1, you click Add, select the files you want to merge to put on the list. If you simply want to merge this file 'tailed' into the other file, just arrange their order on the list and click on Save as to save the new file containing the contents of the file.

However, if you want to merge the file in a way that some pages of one file are inserted into the other, the process will be somewhat more complicated. For example, you have 1 file of 6 pages and 1 file of 9 pages. You want the combined file of 2 files to be of type: the first 2 pages of file 1, the next 9 pages of file 2 and the last 4 pages of file 1. (a total of 15 pages). To do this, first click Add to add file 1 and file 2 to the list. Next, you continue to add file 1 to the list again (we will see the same order as the image).

Now, in the Pages frame of file 1, enter '1,2' (to get the first 2 pages of file 1). In the Pages frame of file 2, enter '1-9' to get all 9 pages of file 2 and finally, in the 3rd file, enter '3-6' to get the last 4 pages of file 1.

After proceeding as you like, click Save as and choose a location to save the file after modification. Your new pdf file will have the order the pages and content will be as you have arranged them.

2. Split: If the Collate tab allows you to merge files or rearrange pages, the Split tab is a place for you to split a pdf file into several small pieces. Each section is a page of a prototype pdf file and you can still access each page normally.

To do this, simply click on the Source PDF file, select the file to be divided and click Save. The program will automatically create child files with the file name is the original file name with the corresponding page number. For example, if you cut the file named 'file 1', the sub-files will be of the form 'file 1_001', 'file 2_002' .

3. Background / Stamps: this is a tab to help you close your 'personal impression' on the pdf file content.
- Background function will allow you to put background image on every page or on the first page of pdf file.
- Stamp function will be similar to Backgroup, except that it only stamped to the top of each page (instead of the middle of the page like Backgroup).

Very simple to use, just click on the Source PDF Document to select the file to insert the background image and click on Background or Stamp PDF Page to select the pdf file containing the background image or icon. Select Backgroup or Stamp below to use the corresponding feature, tick Add Backgroup or Stamp to first Page only if you just want to stamp on the first page and finally click Save As to save the file.

The drawback of this feature is that it does not allow you to select Backgroup or Stamp from images but from other pdf files. Therefore, you must create the pdf file containing your own logo to use.

This feature will be especially useful for companies or websites that want to stamp copyright on their documents.

4. Rotate: During scanning documents to make ebooks (pdf file format), some pages of documents may be turned upside down and it will be difficult to read them. The Rotate tab will help you remedy this situation.

In addition to the four main features mentioned above, PDFTK also allows you to set a password for the pdf file after your editing, cancel printing or editing functions, and copy the content of that file to ensure security. More secure for the content of the file.

In short, PDFTK is a great utility for PDF. Hopefully it will help you in editing or optimizing your pdf files when needed.
