PowerArchiver 2010 11.50

After only a few months of announcing the 2009 version of the best file compression software (as assessed by PC World), ConeXware has officially released the 2010 version with many outstanding features compared to the previous version.

Check out some of the program's features:

- Support compression and decompression of most popular formats today.

- Encrypt compressed files, create self-extracting compressed files.

After downloading, you proceed to install to explore the 'unique' features of Power Archiver 2010 (PA 2010).

- Change interface:

Computer users are now familiar with the use of the new menu system (Ribbon) so many new software have this type of menu system, including PA 2010. By default after installation, the program interface is an old-fashioned menu system, to switch to ribbon, go to Options menu > select Select skin> choose one of three Modern types: Blue-Silver-Black Interface.

- Preview content (Preview Windows):

This is a smart feature of this program, helping users do not need to spend a lot of time to open the application of that file. PA 2010 supports previewing a wide range of file formats for topics: Image (Image), Text (Text), Media, Internet, RTF. Working window on the right is similar to Windows Explorer, you can click Folder and View to change the display type. Also, if you want to send this encrypted file to someone else who doesn't have PA 2010, check the Create self-extracting file box (PAE only). Finally, click Encrypt and enter the password twice. To decrypt the encryption simply press Decrypt . For uncompressed folders, right-click and select Power Archiver 2010> Compress & Encrypt To '* .pae " .

- Create backups to protect data safety:

With a wizard window to help you do this very quickly and easily, click Backup> Create / Edit , then name the file to be backed up, on the Select Archive filename tab; then select the storage format on the Destination Media tab: My Computer (on the computer or on the LAN); CD / DVD / Blu-Ray (on disc types); FTP / SFTP (upload to FPT server or Secure FTP) and set some other parameters in Additional Options tab (if necessary). Then click Next , then Do Backup . In addition, you can finish compressing and sending via email with right-click Power Archiver 2010> Compress & E-mail '* .zip " .

- Burn and create virtual drives:

The disc burning features of PA 2010 focus on the Burner menu, here will have the options: Burn files to Disc-write files / folders to data CD / DVD, need to select the writing speed (Speed), name disc (Disc label); Burn Image (.iso) - burn ISO files to CD / DVD; Copy DVD to Image (.iso) - copy DVD data to ISO image file.

To use the virtual drive creation feature to mount the ISO file, you need to download the StarPort Driver installation package (go to Burner menu> select Virtual Drive and follow the instructions). -Create self-extracting zip file (i.e. compress the file and create * .exe format):

In PA 2010 window, select Tools> SFX Wizard (or Ctrl + X) , click Add Folder (Add Files) to browse to the folder or file to be compressed, then in the box Type in an SFX file name and destination browse to directory to store * .exe file (put the name in the File name box and click Save), click Next to continue. In the next window, it is necessary to set some information: compression formats; compression levels (Compression); . under Configure Compression Options , click Next . Then, you specify the default directory for later extraction program: Current Directory (My Document); Use TEM Directory (C: WindowsTemp); Use Program Files Directory (C: Program Files), with C: as the operating system drive.

Reminder about duplicating files after unzipping in File Conflict (with 3 different ways). Enter the instructions, captions (the title of the extracted window) in the Caption box, and then click Next . Finally click Make SFX , to get the job done. On the other hand, you can create self-extracting archives more easily by opening the existing zipped file and going to Actions menu > Make .EXE File .
