What is Samsung DeX?

Samsung DeX is a smart dock, an accessory released at the same time as Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +, which extends the functionality of a smartphone like a desktop by connecting a keyboard, mouse and monitor. DeX stands for Desktop eXperience.

Samsung DeX is also the name of the software you need to install on your computer to connect the Galaxy to the PC and share the screen from there. You can also use security features on your phone to log in to the Desktop environment.

Daily use

Think about what you usually do every day - Samsung DeX lets you seamlessly move tasks, to do multiple tasks at the same time.

For example, father and son sit in front of the television screen. Guys watch YouTube videos and eat popcorn while dad texting on a smartphone - with control of the phone connected to the TV.

While kids watch YouTube videos on their computer screens, dads can still work on their phones easily.

Creating presentations is easy

• Samsung DeX supports a number of Galaxy, Note and tablet devices.
• Running heavy applications or games on older models (with Android Pie operating system) can cause lag and slow devices.

• Some Samsung DeX functions with HDMI adapters or HDMI cables may differ on DeX Station and DeX Pad.
