Screens Connect is a free software that helps users connect and access to their Mac and Windows device screens easily even in a remote location. Step 1 : Download and install Screens Connect .

Step 2 : Screens Connect requires users to install and run a VNC server on their computer. Check this option if your computer does not have VNC server installed.

In case you want to use Screens Connect through a secure connection, you can set up an SSH server .

How to configure the connection in Screens Connect:

Step 1: Double-click the Screens Connect icon in the system tray.

Step 2 : If you do not already have a Screens account, click the Create a Screens ID link . and follow the instructions below:

  • The user will be redirected to https://screensconnect.com and click the Create a Screens ID button.
  • Enter your authentication email address and password.
  • ScreensConnect.com will send an authentication email to your email address.
  • After creating and validating Screens ID , move on to the next step.

Step 3 : Log in to your Screens account. You only need to do this once.

Step 4 : Users need to make sure VNC Port is configured the same as in VNC server on the machine.

Step 5: If you want to use SSH Tunnel and have installed freeSSHd on your computer, users need to click the Use SSH Tunneling button.

Step 6 : Click the Refresh button to apply the newly created changes and update the computer information on the Connect Screens server .

How to install freeSSHd:

During the installation of Screens Connect , you will be asked to install freeSSHd .

When the program asks if you want to create a private key and run freeSSHd as a Window service, click Yes to agree.

How to configure freeSSHd:

Step 1 : Double click on the freeSSHd icon on the toolbar. You need to make sure that the SSH server is working. If this server is down, click Click here to start it.

Step 2 : Select the User tab and click the Add button.

Fill out the form that appears:

  • Enter your username.
  • Set the Authorization section (confirm) to Password (password).
  • Enter password.
  • Activate Tunneling option.
  • Click OK .

Step 4: In case you encounter an error when connecting via SSH tunnel using freeSSHd , you can open VNC server settings (or TightVNC, UltraVNC, RealVNC, .) on the computer and tick the Allow Loopback option. Connections .
