StarCraft: Brood War - Real-time strategy game

StarCraft: Brood War is the only official expansion of the Starcraft real-time strategy game. The game was released in 1998 for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS, developed by a partnership between Saffire and Blizzard Entertainment.

This expansion expands the storyline (adds 3 new campaigns), adds new maps, adds background music, adds new troop units and new upgrades for all three camps. The plot of the game is a continuation of the original StarCraft and is the previous installment of the StarCraft II game . The Brood War expansion version was released in the United States on November 30, 1998.

Overall Starcraft Brood War is rated quite well. The game was praised by critics for its development with interest and investment as a more authentic game than a mediocre expansion. On May 31, 2007, StarCraft and Brood War totaled more than 10 million copies.
