There are many software with similar functions, but the Startup Control Panel is highly rated, once ranked as "best of the year", and often used as a utility to accompany "homemade" operating systems such as WinXPSP3System Builder Edition.

After installation, to enter the Startup Control Panel, go to Control Panel, select Startup.

In the program's user interface, the following tags should be noted:

- Card HKCU / Run: list of programs running with the operating system and can choose operating mode in HKEY_CURRENT_USER section.

- Card Run / Once: list of programs that only start on the operating system once only when the next boot.

- Startup Card (user): List the programs running in the Starup folder of the current user.

- Startup tab (common): list running programs in Startup folder of all users.

- Card HKLM / Run: list of programs running with the operating system that can choose operating mode in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section.

For all programs listed on each tab, want the program to run on the operating system when you start you just check the box to the left and do the opposite when you do not want the program to run. The logical choice of programs that run with the operating system will make your computer run faster and smoother.
