The film continues to tell the journey of the little hobbit guy Bilbo Baggins and 13 dwarfs, led by Thorin Oakenshield to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and the treasures in it from the dragon Smaug. Like part 1, it was also released in 3D and has a frame rate of 48fps, and was well received. The film has for the third consecutive week topped the list of the most popular North American films, as well as achieved worldwide sales and received positive reviews from critics.
