Stops random applications. Start managing them with the Watchdog Task Manager for Android app.

Note: There is a problem with Android when Watchdog will encounter an error before running after the upgrade. This is an error related to an application upgrade while the old version is running in the background. However, this does not affect the operation of the device. If this is the case, run it again and access the menu, click restart for more accurate monitoring.

Users do not need a task-off tool. But you need a way to ensure that the application in the background is out of control and uses too much CPU. Watchdog will monitor apps and notify them when an app has 'broken through', allowing you to turn off the app right away. Shutting down apps in an innocent way can cause them to stop working immediately and most developers will not receive an error report if you use the task shortcut.

From Android 2.2 onwards, task shortcuts only work with apps in the background and it seems they will restart immediately. Watchdog will remove the application immediately from the list. Running too many applications does not harm the phone, unless they do something shady. In fact, shutting down an application and rebooting it immediately will only consume the device's resources. If users only let applications run, they will start immediately when you access again.

The paid version has all the features of the Lite version, but removes the ads and adds the blacklist feature. This feature allows you to pick out some applications that are frequently in excess activity and assign it the% CPU threshold that is allowed to be used. When usage exceeds this threshold, the application is automatically disabled.

No more blindly shutting down apps, manage them in a smarter way. A good app for all versions of Android.

Stats

This card includes basic parameters collected during monitoring:

  • Last Collection: The time the last collection process was performed. It may take longer than the current period due to CPU rest time.
  • CPU% spent in background apps: Summary of all CPUs that were used by applications at the last approved gathering run in the background. It includes all green applications on the CPU card.
  • Time CPU spent off (sec): The CPU goes into frequent rest when the screen is off and the battery is removed. This is the amount of time that is calculated when the CPU is idle.
  • Memory: Shows the total amount of Ram and the amount of free ram on the phone. Empty ram will usually be lower. Free RAM is the amount of RAM wasted. Android will quickly disable the pending processes if you need free RAM.
  • CPU information: This is the summary of CPU usage on the phone over the last collection period.

Alerts

This card lists all processes marked as being above the CPU limit. Clicking on a list will bring up 3 options. Ignore will delete this warning. The Whitelist will remove the warning and add the process to the Whitelist. Kill will turn off that process.

Whitelist is a list of apps excluded from notification settings. No matter how much they use the CPU, users will not receive a notification.

At the first time you receive an alert, you can ignore it because this is probably what happens once. When an app keeps issuing a warning and it's the one you want to keep, you can add it to WhiteList. Kill is a temporary solution because it will be quickly restarted by the operating system. And if this app works 'hurdles' once, another time will continue.

CPU

This tab shows a list of all processes on the phone, both foreground and background. Each entry displays the final status of this application, along with CPU usage and internal memory. There is also an option to change classification options. The star on the entry shows that it exists in WhiteList. The red X indicates the items in the blacklist. The blue entries are applications that the system considers to be the background application. The green entry is foreground. White shows processes at the system level.

The CPU updates regularly to control processes that are using the CPU. This can cause Watchdog to increase CPU usage. Besides, there is a freeze option that will stop updating UI to make this list more convenient. Everything still works, only that is not constantly updated.

Menus

  • Preferences : Brings users to the configuration screen.
  • WhiteList : Displays the current WhiteList content. Click on an item to adjust it.
  • BlackList : Display content in BlackList at the present time. Click for a moment to delete it. Click it to adjust the current settings.
  • Help : Brings back sub menu with supporting content.
  • Restart : If the application does not update, the last update is outdated, click restart to restart the service. It is like a task shortcut that will turn off the monitoring service.
  • Sort : Various options for sorting CPU lists.
