WinGate - Install and configure WinGate for the server, the Client

This is a special program that runs on the local area network (LAN) and makes it possible for each machine on this intranet to connect to the Internet as standalone machines with separate Accounts. With Wingate, you do not need to equip multiple Modems or telecommunication lines when you need separate Internet access for the computers in the network. Only one modem is needed on the server, but each client has its own account (user name, password, IP .) and they can be connected at the same time with only one telecommunication line attached to the server in network.

Step 2: If you have a standard version of WinGate, please select: "Licensed version" -> Enter the User Name and CD Key of WinGate in case you do not have it you can use the trial version (30 days) Evaluation version

Step 3: If you want to use the Users available on Windows server then you can choose "Use NT for User Authentication" in my opinion you should not choose this so it will be very dangerous for the server if anyone then use your Account to access your computer

Step 4: Continue installation according to the default mode of WinGate or you can configure as you like. If you are a new user, select the default mode and click Next until the installation is successful. After the installation is completed, remember to restart the computer for WinGate to register with the OS

You must pay attention during the process of configuring WinGate for the first time by opening Gatekeeper when the first login, enter Enter without entering the Password immediately after which WinGate will notify you that you have not created a Password so you need to create a Password. Please set a password for the administrator.

Actually, the process of installing WinGate does not need much configuration if you do not want to restrict Internet access for members of the LAN. Other members just need to install WinGate in Client mode immediately WinGate Client will automatically find Wingate server and share Internet connection.

In this article I want to help you configure security for WinGate step by step.

Step 1: Initialize Users

Move to the User Tab in the admin section, then select Users, right-click and select New User as shown below:

Then Add the Users that you allow to access the Internet and the services on the network. Important note: You must add the Administrator account and the Administrators account or you will lose control of WinGate

Also if you are concerned that the User may share the Account on the LAN with a lot of friends, limit this by confirming the IP address or computer name when accessing. Therefore, they cannot be accessed without your permission by selecting Assumed Users as follows:
