AudioShell

AudioShell 2 is a free extension plug-in that allows users to view and edit ID3 metadata tags directly in Windows Explorer. This utility supports all standard file and tag formats supported by Tag & Rename.

The plug-in includes ID3 tag editing and file renaming tools, both of which are displayed on the pop up menu of music files in Windows.

The tool works by adding details about music tags to the columns and preview panels of Windows Explorer with a property handler. In addition, the thumbnail processing feature also adds thumbnails and album art to song information. At the same time, AudioShell supports full Unicode encode.

Supported file formats and formats:

• MP3: all versions of ID3 tag
• Windows Media (wma, asf and wmv files)
• Apple iTunes aac (m4a, m4p and m4b) and mp4, aiff files
• ogg, flac (vorbis comment tags)
• mpc, mp +, monkey's audio, wav pack, optim frog, true audio - APE tags, APEv2
• Wav - ID3v2.3 tag in RIFF id chunk and LIST INFO chunk
• dsf (DSD / Direct-Stream Digital) - ID3v2.3 tag
