BackupChain is a powerful, easy-to-use backup tool for IT professionals.

It is fully automated, configurable, provides a file differentiation method to avoid duplication, and supports multithreaded databases for faster backups.

BackupChain is an automatic backup software, high performance with a simple interface on the Windows operating system. Additionally, it can perform Hyper-V Backups, VMware Backups and data backup.

Start by setting up the first backup operation using the Backup Wizard:

Choose Universal Backup if you're not sure which one to use. Hyper-V Backup, VMware Backup, VirtualBox Backup, and File Backup are more effective backup types for each individual case.

Set up Hyper-V Backup and Cluster Shared Volume

If you choose Universal or Hyper-V Backup, then you can select Automatic Single-Click Backup and Restore, select the folder file. Note that BackupChain is compatible with Cluster Shared Volumes, so it can be pre-set your task to run better on CSV:

If you select Automatic Single-Click Backup and Restore, Virtual Machine Selection Screen will appear:

To finish the backup process, select the VMs you want to back up and select the backup destination.

Select Files and Folders

To back up files and folders, click on "Add Local Folder" and select the required folders. Individual files can be selected in the main screen as shown below:

You can quickly check each task and compare the settings between tasks by selecting a row from the list. Advanced task settings are available via the main screen tab (Folders, Files, Exclusions, .):

Select local or external hard drive, FTP / FTPS, and shared folders (NAS / SAN) and type connection details:

Advanced file type configuration

The ' File Types ' panel is preconfigured with suggestion settings or depending on your preferences.

In it, you can determine exactly how many files need to be backed up based on the file type:

Setup compression

You can set the backup stage to create standard ZIP, 7-Zip, .GZ formats or turn off compression to start backing up files in the original format.

File Recovery

When you want to restore an older version of a file, open the Restore Screen from the BackupChain menu, then select the folder or FTP server where the file is stored.

Restore Hyper-V Virtual Machine Backups

The screen below shows how to restore the Hyper-V virtual machine backup. Select the VMs you want to restore and then click "Restore".
