Guide to website backup with BackupSF:

Step 1 : Create a new project.

Enter the name of the new project in the Project Name section, this will help you find data easier. This name should be similar or similar to your website name. Next, enter the correct URL of the website (including https:/// ).

Step 2 : Customize FTP settings.

Users need to enter the necessary data to establish an FTP connection. The program will save your FTP password in encrypted form. Immediately after entering this data and clicking the Next button, BackupSF will verify the information entered. If the credentials are correct, the user can move on to the next step.

The default port ( port ) of the program is 21 . The software development company recommends that you do not change this Port field information . Similarly, you should keep the tick in the Passive mode option. Only leave a check mark in case you understand your actions as this may interfere with the data transmission.

Note: In case the user does not know the information to set up FTP access, contact your server service provider.

Step 3 : Select the remote folder to backup.

You should select the folders containing data on the remote servers you want to back up.

Usage tips for users:

• Normally, you don't need to back up all websites, you just need to select the folders containing regular updates.
• If you do not need to back up the data but only want to back up the database, you can skip this step by checking the Skip FTP backup option .

Step 4: Upload the script to back up the database.

Scripting plays an important role in backing up data because most database servers do not support remote connections.

• Select the website's root directory (usually index.php or index.html files are in the root directory).
• Click the Upload script button. The script will be uploaded to the website (the program will automatically create the BackupSF_scripts folder).
• Double click the URL script to check. Typically, the URL will look like www.yourwebsite.com/BackupSF_scripts (yourwebsite part will be replaced by the user's website name).

You need to upload the script each time you want to back up a database that belongs to the same hosting provider account.

Step 5 : Add the MySQL database for backup.

Enter the database name, user name, and password and the database server address if the address is different from the default data. Click the Save button to save the information.

If you want to edit or delete the database, select the part you want to delete in the drop-down list and click the Delete button.

You can skip this step if you just want to back up the file.

Note: If you do not know where to find the necessary data, you can look in the configuration file ( configuration file ) of CMS website .

Step 6 : Select the database to backup.

Select the databases you want to backup. The script will then export the database with the support of SQL queries and transfer the data to the program. All copies will be stored as dump data format.

Step 7 : Plan the backup.

You can customize the frequency of each project update. Please note that the default folder of website backups is located in the My DocumentsBackupSF Backups folder .

How to restore MySQL database using phpMyAdmin:

Step 1: Create the database (using the database name, username and password as the original) with the help of the hosting control panel.

Step 2: Log in to phpMyAdmin .

Step 3 : Select the database you want to recover.

Step 4 : Click the Import button.

Step 5 : Select the SQL backup file in the File section to import.

Step 6: Select the MySQL database encoding.

Step 7 : Press the GO button to restore.

How to back up websites on SugarSync:

Step 1 : Add the website to the backup section.

Step 2 : Start the backup process of the website.

Save the backup copy in the default folder C: UsersYourUsernameDocumentsBackupSF Backups . You can change this link in the Options section of BackupSF .

Step 3 : Select the backup folder. Mark the BackupSF Backups folder as the folder to be synced onto SugarSync .

How to back up websites to Dropbox:

Step 1 : Add the website to the backup section.

Step 2 : Start the backup process of the website.

Save the backup copy in the default folder C: UsersYourUsernameDocumentsBackupSF Backups .

You can change this link in the Options section of BackupSF .

Step 3 : Change the default sync folder of Dropbox .

Go to Dropbox options => Advanced => Dropbox location and change the sync folder to BackupSF 's default backup folder . Enter the following link in the Dropbox Location :

C: UsersYourUsernameDocumentsBackupSF Backups

Step 4 : Change the default backup folder of BackupSF .

If you've already installed Dropbox on your computer, you need to change the default BackupSF backup folder to Dropbox 's sync folder.
