If there is no Mac version:

  • If cloud service is on, please switch between the on and off button.
  • Exit and completely close the Day One application.
  • Open Day One, check to see if the post has reappeared.

If the article has not been restored, try the following:

  • Access system settings, select iCloud and check that the text and data items are enabled.
  • If iCloud text and data is off, turn on the service, then exit the general settings and reboot the device.
  • If iCloud text and data is on, turn the service off and exit the general settings and restart the device. Then go back to settings and turn on iCloud text and data.
  • Check to see if the article has reappeared.

If the data has not returned yet, try the following:

  • Access system settings> general settings> use.
  • In the iCloud section, click manage storage.
  • If you see Day One listed in the text and data section, please click the link to access the next screen and view the entire Day One file.

ICloud sync error:

Visit Day One's iCloud support page for detailed instructions if you have any problems syncing with iCloud, including:

  • The article counter is different from the device.
  • Messages created on one device do not show up on another device.
  • One-way sync: posts created on one device will be pushed to another device, but this device will not receive any new changes from other devices.
  • Day One indicates one or more files are being uploaded or downloaded.

Sync with Day One:

Users can keep the Day One sync status between multiple iOS devices and / or Mac computers as well as laptops. Note that you need to purchase separate versions of mobile apps and Macs if you want to use both.

Day One now supports Dropbox and iCloud sync options .

ICloud sync is enabled by default on both platforms, which works automatically if you sign in to the same iCloud account on all devices and if iCloud data and data sync is turned on in the general settings.

However, you can switch to Dropbox in settings> sync (iOS) or Preferences - sync (Mac). You need to have the Dropbox application installed on your mobile device and / or on a computer running Day One. If you don't have a Dropbox account, you need to create a new one.

Track daily activities with Day One:

If you own an iOS device with an M7 processor (iPhone 5S, iPad Air and new iPad Mini), Day One is a great way to track daily activities. Besides personal memories and ideas, Day One can also track all activities of the day easily and does not affect the battery life of the device.

Private activity: allows adding activities when creating a new post. Whenever creating a new post, an icon representing your personal activity will be added automatically. Whether you're at your desk or taking a flight home, Day One keeps track of what you're doing at journal time.

For devices that do not use the M7 chip, users can manually select the appropriate icon. Click the icon in either read or edit mode to display a menu and change your activity.

Day One is designed to help users record every movement in life. Now you can easily interact with Day One through the new step count feature (Step Count) (supports iPhone 5S only). First turn on Day One in settings> privacy> activity scrolling. Click the step counter icon in the edit menu to add the number of steps for creating articles.

At this point, if you want to count the whole day, you need to create an article at the end of the day.

Now you have a handy daily activity tracker with Day One. From there you can comfortably play outside and enjoy life. At the same time, Day One will record your every move.

Add videos to Day One:

Adding video is more complicated than inserting images and audio, because video files are often larger and require more processing to decode and achieve the desired size. In subsequent versions, the video will be saved directly to the Day One diary.

Currently, the application allows automatic embedding of videos from YouTube and Vimeo. You simply paste a URL from YouTube or Vimeo into a single link and the video will appear in reading mode (Read Mode).

Social networks for publishing support:

By default, published posts are hidden from search engines and are visible only to you and to the person who shared this URL. If you want to share your post with more people, you can turn on social networking services like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare.

Facebook

When you share an article on Facebook, the date and time of the original article on Day One will be preserved on the Facebook timeline. In addition, in addition to sharing in the timeline with the original time, the article is also shared on your News Feed.

Posts that contain only characters will be shared as status updates with a link to the publishing page, including the original Facebook share box. In the future, the application will add many new Facebook sharing options.

Note: to protect users' privacy, your public Facebook profile will not be in other social networking profiles on the publishing page.

Twitter

If the "Auto Bold First Line" function is enabled on Day One for iOS, this line will be shared with the link to the publishing page.

Without a title, this share will use the maximum number of characters within the limit of 140, except for the URL (approximately 24 characters). The publisher will add more formatting options when sharing Twitter in later updated versions.

Foursquare

Sharing on Foursquare will include a location in your post with the Foursquare location selection.

The Foursquare posting will include a link to the publication page as well as the article within 140 characters. If the content contains photos, it will be part of your location sharing.
