Save music files from Filer to iPod:

Users cannot use Filer nor any other applications on the App Store. The only way to get content from an iPod is through the iTunes app on a personal computer or through the iTunes Store.

Listen to music from Filer on iOS 4 desktop:

Filer allows playing audio on the desktop in version 2.0.5.

Does not support downloading YouTube videos:

Filer Lite for iOS does not allow downloading YouTube videos. This is a tool designed to receive personal files from internal devices. If you find the download link for that file, you can download it. So YouTube is a service that provides access to videos through streaming technology, so there is no download link for those content.

How to connect to Dropbox:

On Filer Lite's main screen, tap the '+' button to add a folder, then select the Dropbox cloud service. Verify your personal and Dropbox account information will appear as a folder, similar to the Mac or PC's Dropbox application.

To download files from Dropbox, simply tap the file name in the general list.

To upload files to Dropbox, users simply move the file into a Dropbox folder via the file manager, by touching the file details button to move or select edit and move in batch.

Dropbox folder error informing device offline and unable to access Dropbox:

When you connect to the Dropbox cloud service, Filer Lite folder will be created in your personal Dropbox account.If you delete this folder, Dropbox will refuse to access Filer. This is a security feature of Dropvox, to restore access, delete Dropbox folders from Filer and reconnect.

Files downloaded from the web:

Filer Lite for iOS is featured by a download queue so you can track the progress of the current downloader, reorder and restart this process.

There are several methods for downloading from a waiting list:

• Copy a link as you browse on Safari and launch Filer Lite, then select download.
• If you do not want to copy / exit / launch, users can take advantage of the bookmarklet for Safari to perform the entire process.
• Use the integrated web browser to navigate then switch to download mode, touch the link.Each selected path will be added to the waiting list.
• Enter the URL into the screen to receive the link and select download.
• The download icon will always show the total number of files on the waiting list, so you can keep track of when the download is complete.

How to use the Safari Bookmarklet:

The bookmarklet is part of javascript code and located in a bookmark. The first step is to create bookmarks. You can use the path in the application and follow the instructions, or copy and paste the following corresponding code as a bookmark in Safari: javascript: window.location = 'filer: //' + escape (window.location ).

Once you've created the bookmark, use Safari to browse the content you want to download. Then call the bookmark menu and touch download bookmark. Filer Lite will launch, using one-touch operation to download the displayed content before selecting bookmarks. You can also switch to the integrated web browser and log in to a page or enter an anti-spam code.

How to use bookmarklet in Filer Lite:

Integrated web browser that supports bookmarking. In addition to quick access to favorite pages, javascript bookmarklet is also supported. Any mark that starts with javascript code will be treated as a bookmarklet.

The web search with bookmarklet allows users to explore download links from that page and save individual files. These bookmarklets will be installed in Filer Lite by creating bookmarks and pasting them.

Download it on your desktop and run other applications:

IOS 4 devices support multitasking. For hardware that does not support multitasking, and on iPad you can:

• Continue downloading if you exited Filer and come back.
• Use the integrated web browser while downloading.
• View downloaded text and multimedia files while downloading.
• Choose where to exit text and multimedia files if you exit Filer and return.

Supported file view:

Filer Lite for iOS users can view all text, images and multimedia files supported by iPhone. When downloading a file, Filer Lite for iOS will specify a default viewer, based on the file extension. You can also change the file name and change the viewer if the file does not match the content.

If Filer Lite for iOS cannot view the file, touch and hold it to see if other applications on the device support it.

File storage and backup:

The downloaded file will be stored in the Filer Lite application. This means they are public and only appear when running the application. If you delete Filer from the device, all this data is deleted as well.

Downloads are backed up via iTunes unless you're running iPhone OS 3.0 or 3.1.

Download multiple files:

Filer Lite for iOS does not support downloading multiple files at the same time, but allows you to run the waiting list and download each file at the maximum speed , even on the desktop. Users can download files in batches at a low speed, this process will affect battery life and reduce device speed.

How to get files on a personal computer:

On iPad and iOS 4: connect the device to iTunes via a USB data cable. Click the device icon and select the application tab. Under File Sharing, select Filer from the list. All files and folders will be listed, you can drag them from iTunes.

On the device screen, turn on web sharing. To use this option, you need a computer connected to the WiFi network with a mobile device. Using a web browser on your computer, enter the corresponding http address.

After connecting via the web, you can download or upload files directly from the device.
