How to get started

You can launch OtraUnit Data Recovery by double-clicking the "OtraUnit Data Recovery" icon on the desktop. Alternatively, you can launch the application by going to Start -> Programs -> OtraUnit Data Recovery . Once launched, you will see the main window of the program.

You can now select the desired type of recovery.

Just press " Fast Scan ", or " Full Scan ", or " Volume Deep Scan ", or " Disk Deep Scan ".

Select " Fast Scan " if you want to recover deleted files / folders. If this module cannot recover deleted files / folders, try Volume Deep Scan.

Select " Full Scan " if you want to recover files on a formatted or damaged partition. If that partition cannot be found, use "Full Scan" to recover the files.

Select " Partition Recovery " if you want to recover lost / deleted partitions.

Works with data found

You can check sub folders, preview file contents through the directory tree.

The main purpose is to select all the files and folders you want to recover. You can see the file has 2 colors. Maximize the program window to see information on the files and folders you wish to recover.

There are 2 important directories in the restored virtual file system - " Lost files " and " Raw Files ". Remember to check both because sometimes the recovery file will be placed there.

You can go to the directory tree in the left panel, view the sub folders and files in the right panel with name, size, date, etc.

When selecting a file, you can right click on it. And then, use the Recover option to directly archive this file to the specified folder.

You can change the sort order for the file list by clicking on the column header.

The program allows searching for files by name with buttons at the top of the window.

File storage

After you have previewed the files in the restored filesystem, you can store them if you want to keep them between them.

Step 1: Make sure all the files you want to recover are selected. The selected files have a 'tick' in the box.

Step 2: Click the " Save Files " button. You will then be asked to select a location to store the restored files.

Step 3: After selecting the available path, the file storage process will begin immediately.

You can stop this process by clicking the Cancel button.
