Picasa does not store any of your images, it simply scans the hard drive and displays the image files it finds.In this way, Picasa folders represent the actual folders that contain images on the computer's hard drive.

If you've made edits in iPhoto, each album or event in your iPhoto Library contains a "Originals" folder (the root folder) and a "Modified" folder (changed folder). Picasa will scan your photos and videos in both folders, then display an overall folder with the latest versions of each file.
