Steganos LockNote - Text editor and file encryption

There are many different ways to protect important and private content contained in text files, of which LockNote is also one of the most effective.

As everyone knows, Microsoft Office is the most popular text editing toolkit today. To protect important data and information, we often use the password protection feature of text files in MS Office. However, not all of us know how to create passwords in MS Office, not even everyone uses MS Office. The simplest way is thanks to the help of LockNote.

LockNote is a free utility that lets you edit text in it and encrypt it to protect password-generated text files. LockNote uses AES 265-bit encryption algorithm, along with password protection, so we can be assured of the security of the data to be protected.

Advantages:

- Compact program, can be used immediately without installation.

- Instead of creating files in text format, the program creates files in .exe format, so these files can be easily used anywhere without having to install other programs, of course provided that a password is required for access.

- The interface is simple and easy to use, just through a few steps, you can encrypt your important documents.

- Using AES 265-bit algorithm, you can be assured of the data protected by the program.

Defect:

- Only supports the .txt text format, so it does not support fonts, images, colors .

- File after encoding usually has a larger capacity than the original text file. (However not significant).

- And because the security features are so high, if you accidentally forget the password to access the file, there will be no way for you to use that file anymore. So be careful in choosing a password.

In short, LockNote is a reliable choice for those who want to protect the important data and information contained in their text files in the safest and simplest way.

Once activated the program, the main interface of LockNote is similar to the interface of Wordpad. Now, you can use LockNote as an award-winning text editor (you can still use Vietnamese keyboard to type accented characters as usual). After you have finished writing the necessary text, select File from the menu, select Save As . Name the file to save, choose a location to save and click Save .

The text file is encrypted and can only access its contents only when the password is known. When you double-click the newly created file, you will be asked to enter the access password.

Another nice feature of LockNote is that instead of editing the text directly on the program and then encrypting it, it also allows to encrypt the text files that have been created earlier (however only supports files text in .txt format).

To proceed with the encryption of text files available with LockNote, simply drag and drop the file into the main interface of the program. This means that we do not need to copy and paste important content from the old text file into LockNote, preventing content being stolen by KeyLogger programs that read the Clipboard content.

When dragging and dropping the file into LockNote, the program will ask you to confirm whether you want LockNote to encrypt the file or not, click Yes to LockNote encrypt the file content, then the program will ask you to create an access password again. counter as above.
