to select the directory containing the text files (.txt) with the content to search. If you want to select multiple drives, folders, click
. If you want to find text files in subfolders as well, tick the Scan Subfolders box.
In addition to text files, the program also supports other file formats such as INI, PHP, JS, HTML, CSS, BAT. Click the down arrow at File Filter and select the file format to search.
Next, type the search term into the Find box and click the Find button below. The program will search and display the results on all text files in the selected folder. Because TextCrawler 2.0 has good Unicode support, you can search for Vietnamese accented keywords.
To replace the searched word with another word, enter the contents of the new word in the Replace box, and then click the Replace button. The Perform Operation dialog box displays the number of words and files that will be replaced content; Click Yes to proceed. If you just want to replace the content on specific files, you tick the files before clicking Replace .
In addition to finding and completely replacing the newly searched keyword (Replace), you can click the drop-down arrow in the Standard Replace box and select Insert Before (add the content before the key word), InsertAfter (add the content after the keyword). ), Delete (delete words). Selected, click Replace to perform the task.
Advanced search
When you have a need to search for keywords, you select the Regular Expression tab, enter the text of the search term in the Reg Ex box, and the word will be replaced in the Replace box. Keywords entered in the Reg Ex box can follow the following syntax:
[xyz]: find words that contain one of the characters: x, y, orz.
[^ xyz]: find words that don't contain one of the characters: x, y, orz.
(xy)? (z): Findz or xyz.
(xyz) | (abc) | (def): search for the terms xyz, abc anddef at the same time.
