Microsoft has provided a set of tools to help programmers use the Visual Basic language to write applications that run on the new Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system.

On September 23, 2010, Microsoft said it had started offering a toolkit to allow Visual Basic developers to build applications for the Windows Phone 7 platform. Accordingly, developers can download Microsoft Visual Basic CTP (Community Technology Preview) for Windows Phone Developer Tools at Microsoft homepage.

Comes with CTP are Visual Studio 2010 sample applications, tools to support application design and emulation, debugging, and IntelliSense for Visual Basic. Applications built from CTP can run simultaneously on the emulator and also on real phones.
