AppExtractor for Android is designed / tested using the ClockworkMod recovery mode - which is a mini operating system for phones and tablets running Android. It allows you to intervene deep into the system, to restore, install or modify components that you cannot do right in the current Android operating system.

The latest version allows users to set up an alternate backup in their device.

This application supports restoring applications, data, SMS and MMS from the ROM Manager backup area. It is also compatible with the ClockworkMod Recovery 5 application or backups created by previous versions of ClockworkMod Recovery.

This new version is completely free, but only supports users to restore 5 applications at a time. If you want to get rid of these restrictions, you can purchase the AppExtractor Key and get new features later on with updates.
