DroidWall for Android - Prevent Android apps from accessing the Internet

DroidWall is a front-end application for powerful firewalls like the Linux firewall. This application allows you to restrict which applications are allowed to access your data network (2G / 3G and / or Wi-Fi). This is a perfect solution if you don't have an infinite data plan or you simply want to extend battery life.

DroidWall works in two modes: Whitelist and Blacklist. The Blacklist mode includes applications that are blocked from accessing the internet, while the Whitelist mode includes applications that are allowed to access the internet.

By default, DroidWall will initially be in Whitelist mode, users who want to switch to Blacklist mode must manually change. Also note that by default the 'firewall' is initially disabled (disabled) so you must enable it yourself.

Once you've selected the mode you want and have enabled the firewall - the next thing is to simply check the boxes next to the application names to allow / disallow network access (depending on which mode you have already set). to choose). As shown in the pictures above, you can choose to block access from Wi-Fi or phone data networks, or both. Note that while the icon is 3G, it will still work with 2G and 4G networks. And when you have marked the applications you want, click Save rules.

Whenever you want to revise the app's internet access, just launch DroidWall, change whatever you want to change, and click Save rules.

Another feature in DroidWall is to set a password protection so others cannot change the settings you have chosen. To activate this feature, press the Menu button on the phone, click on More and select Set password. Enter the password you want and later when starting DroidWall, you will have to enter the password to be able to use the application. To delete a password, go to the Set password section and click OK.
