Part 1: Directly recover data from iPhone, iPad and iPod

iFonebox for Mac supports direct scanning from many different iOS devices, including: iPhone 5S / 5C / 5 / 4S / 4 / 3GS, The New iPad1 / 2/3/4, iPad air, / iPad Mini1 / 2 , iPod touch 4 & iPod touch 5 to restore data such as contacts, messages, notes, calendars, call logs, bookmarks in Safari and reminders.

Step 1: Launch iFonebox for Mac and connect your iOS device to the Mac

After installing the software, launch and connect your iOS device to the Mac via a USB cable. Selecting the " Recover from iOS Device " mode is the way to recover.

Step 2: Start scanning your iOS device

After pressing the " Recover from iOS Device " button, iFonebox for Mac will begin scanning your iOS device to analyze data in Apple devices and find lost or deleted data. The progress bar will display the entire scan process and the scan time depends on the number of databases you have.

Step 3: Preview and select recovery data

When the scan is complete, the data list includes: Camera Roll, Photo Stream, contacts, messages, message attachments, call logs, reminders, calendars, notes, voice recordings , bookmarks in Safari will be displayed at the top of the interface. Click on the item you want to preview and click " Recover " to get back all the data on Mac.

Note: If you only want to preview and recover deleted data, check the " Only display the deleted items " option and click " Uncheck All " to uncheck all files.

Step 4: Move the deleted contacts back to the device

If you want to directly recover lost contacts or delete back to the device. The latest version of the program supports this. Just click on the " Contacts " button on the menu bar, then select the contacts you need. All backup files in iTunes that you've synced before can be automatically detected and listed in the program.

Double click the backup file in iTunes you want to restore or select " Start Scan " to start scanning. Note, if the backup file is not displayed on the program, this may be because you have not synchronized your iOS device with iTunes on this Mac.

Step 2: Preview and recover data from backup file in iTunes

After the program automatically extracts data from scan results, camera roll, photo stream, messages, contacts, call logs, notes, calendars, etc. can be displayed on the interface. Preview the tabs you want. Then, press the " Recover " button on the top left to save them on a Mac.

Part 3: Recover files in DFU mode (only for iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4)

DFU mode can help you extract data even if you forget your iOS device's password, broken device during boot, etc.

Step 1: Run the program and connect the iOS device

Launch the program after installing it on the Mac. Then, connect the iOS device to the Mac using a USB cable. You will see the interface as below:

Click the " Advanced Mode " button and you will see the following interface:

Press " Start " in the window and then hold the power and Home keys on the phone for about 10 seconds. The countdown time will be displayed in the window.

After 10 seconds, the screen of the iOS device will turn black. Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds until the message " You have successfully entered DFU mode, now you can release the Home button " appears on the software window.

Step 2: Select the file

After activating DFU mode on iOS devices, this software will automatically start a deep scan mode for iOS devices.

The scanning process will take a moment, the list of files that can be restored will be displayed in the left bar. Check the catalog or some specific files in it to restore.
