WatchDog 9.3

Many people can't control the time spent sitting at the computer, children love games, adults love work. Windows also has a time management program, but in fact it only serves as a reminder, and users can 'fire' it at any time.

With Watchdog it is not so easy, this software is especially for parents so it decentralizes users: the highest level has an unlimited account for parents (Parent), The remaining levels are limited accounts of time and right to use the program.

The first installer, the default is Parent, will have to give me a username and a password, and then do the job: provide limited accounts to other users. These people will log in to Windows with their own username and password, and from this point on, Watchdog will implicitly deduct the time that the 'Parent' previously granted.

Everything works normally, but when the time allows, Watchdog will appear, mildly prompted: should voluntarily obey the shutdown, heavy . bup, the machine automatically shuts down.

Once the date has expired, on that day, users cannot log in to Windows anymore, unless they log in with someone else's account or use a trick. Naturally, the next day everything was normal.

Watchdog also carefully makes detailed reports of user sessions, even it captures screenshots of the work at the time set as a 'material evidence' later.

To create user-level accounts, click the Add button. If you want to delete, click the Delete button and if you want to create a series of accounts of equal value, click the Copy button.

Click the Config, Modify buttons to edit account information, Log button to read the report and Options button to set Watchdog. Create a new account as follows: After clicking Add , a new window appears, click Next to continue. In the Name box, enter the account user name, type Password in the Password box and type in the Re-enter box.

In the 2 sections below, it is recommended to select User can change their password so that later, the user of that account can change his password to his liking. Click Next to step through the most important work, which is time level.

There are many types of time allocations: Unlimited (unlimited), monthly (monthly), weekly (weekly), daily (daily) or a certain period of time (one time). If you choose unlimited, which is equivalent to Parent, choose one time, it means that when the time is up, it will not be used anymore, it is best to choose daily to set the time of use in the day.

Click Next to move to the next screen - the 'law enforcement' screen: when the timer runs out what will Watchdog do? Turn off the computer immediately (Shutdown Windows), restart the computer (Restart computer), or the Watchdog Login screen (Display Watchdog login) appears? Perhaps to appear Watchdog login screen for somewhat gentle, users will have to manipulate themselves to turn off the machine (though somewhat regrettable).

To relax the atmosphere, you should choose Display message to type some clever reminders or choose Play sound to find a happy piece of * .wav music. The above effects will appear right after the timer runs out.

Once the accounts have been created, 'Parent' will notify each user, giving each username and password. Normally, the program has set some main contents by itself, but 'Parent' has to reset itself according to its requirements by right clicking on the icon (dog image) under the taskbar, selecting Options .

Watchdog can also restrict the programs that are allowed to run at each account: Double-click the account you want to restrict, the Edit user information window appears, click the Restrict button and switch to the Program Restrictions tab (the limited program). Select R estrict what program this user can run and then select Exclusive - Programs listed below cannot run . From here you can click the Add button to add the programs to the list.

There are 3 programs that Windows must ban: Regedit.exe (modify the Registry), Msconfig.exe (modify the system, allow or ban programs running with Windows), Taskmgr.exe (click to enable nesting). Ctrl-Alt-Delete to remove the running program).
