Ylmf OS for Linux

Ylmf OS 3.0 is an operating system (OS) with an interface similar to Windows XP.

To run Ylmf OS 3.0, the minimum configuration for the system is a 300 MHz x86 processor, 128 MB RAM, at least 4GB free hard drive, and a video card that supports 640x480 resolution.

First, download the ISO file of Ylmf OS. You use a disc burning program and Burn this file to a CD. Restart the computer and wait for the file loading process to complete. On the interface that appears, you can choose to try (Try Ylmf OS) or install on the hard drive (Install Ylmf OS).

Or you can use the Wubi tool built into the ISO file to install in parallel with the Windows OS.

1. Install Ylmf OS in parallel with Windows

You unzip the file Ylmf_OS_3.0.iso (The partition containing this directory does not install Ylmf). Next copy the file Ylmf_OS_3.0.iso to this directory and activate the wubi.exe file. In the interface that appears, select the partition used to install Ylmf. Note that the Ylmf installation partition should be at least 8GB.

You wait until the process is complete click Finish to restart the computer. You should now have a Boot menu with two options for Windows and Ylmf OS. You choose Ylmf OS to complete the remaining installation process.

2. Install Ylmf OS on USB device:

You download free portable utility UnetBootin at tinyurl.com/4zz8mac. UnetBootin allows users to easily install various Linux distributions onto USB devices without the need for a CD.

After starting UnetBootin, pay attention to the following:

+ Diskimage : select ISO in the drop-down menu, click the . button to browse to the downloaded Ylmf_OS_3.0.iso file.

+ Type : select USB Drive in the drop-down menu, Drive item select the name of the USB drive, then click OK to finish.

Finished press Exit to end the process. To use this USB Ylmf OS, your computer must support and be enabled to boot from USB.

3. The software has been integrated into Ylmf

- System : Wine (running Windows applications), Samba (supports printing), gmount-iso (using ISO image file) .

- Multimedia : SMPlayer (watch video), PiTiVi (Video editor on GNOME interface), gThumb (view picture), GIMP (image processing), Cheese (take photos, record videos from webcam and add effects) .

- Internet: FireFox browser, email management for Thunderbird, eMule (file sharing on peer networks) .

- Office: OpenOffice office suite, Stardict dictionary, . and other common software for Windows and Linux.
